This site is the beginning of a new adventure. We hope for it to showcase all of our interests in a way that other people can enjoy.
The main focus to start will be on my life long passion of cooking and baking. Other themes on this site will include gardening, crafts, photography and some blogs about local restaurants and food topics.
You may ask what is a “little dardoo”? It is me, more accurately it is my childhood nickname given by my uncle Herm. As I was forming my vocabulary I would say “gaga” for water and “dardoo” for anything that was a sweet treat. So when he was around he would always refer to me as his “little dardoo” until the day he passed.
Later in life I studied to become a pastry chef and graduated from the CIA in Hyde Park, NY. When I was opening a wholesale pastry shop I told a friend this childhood story, he was designing a business logo for me. In his eyes mind he heard and pictured “Dardous”. So we went with it, “Dardous Fine Pastries”. We thought it sounded French when its origin was 100% Polish.
Today I educate high school students in the arts of cooking, baking/pastry and customer service. Still doing what I love.
We hope you will enjoy visiting our place on the web and hopefully we can inspire or educate you on all the little things we do.
