Mike’s Fudge Brownies
I have been using Mike’s Brownies recipe for over 30 years, it is a family and friend favorite. Super simple to make with just a few quality ingredients. I sugest using good a quality cocoa powder.
Time: 1 1/2 hours Difficulty: Easy
Recipe:
- 3 sticks butter, melted
- 2 c. Sugar
- 6 large eggs
- 1-1/4 c. All-purpose flour
- 1-1/4 c. Cocoa powder
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 1 Tbls. Vanilla
- 1 c. Chocolate chips/chunks
- 1 c. Walnuts
Gather all your ingredients (mis en place) Preheat oven to 350°F
Mix melted butter and sugar together in a large mixing bowl with a spoon or a spatula.
Add eggs, vanilla and salt. Mix together very well to combine, dont be affraid to overmix at this point.
Fold in your flour and sifted cocoa, stir to encorporate all ingredients. Batter will be thick and shiny.
Add chocolate chips and walnuts
Pour batter into a 9 x 13 glass dish that has been lightly sprayed with pan release. Place into hot oven and set timer for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes reduce temperature down to 325°F for an additional 2o-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Remove from oven and let cool on a wire rack for a minimum of two hours before attempting to cut. This brownie is decadent enough plain, but it is also amazing with fudge, peanut butter or German chocolate icing.
Enjoy!
